Have you ever thought of living a peaceful and a simple life far away from the hustle and bustle of day to day crisis by having a tranquil lifestyle?
Well, all of us want this. It is a dream for some people, Having less workload, less worries and more productive thoughts.
Today, I am going to share with you a very distinctive topic ‘Minimalism’. The word means Extreme spareness and simplicity. In general, keeping things simple is known as minimalism.
Minimalism is an idea about living with less. It essentially concerns focusing on things which are important and removing distractions in life. This small action keeps a person’s life simple and right on the track.
Nowadays we know minimalism as a lifestyle which opposes excessive consumerism. But this Idea of simplicity began long ago in the 20th century, It was conceived in the form of abstract Art which started in the Post World War period and consisted of simple geometric shapes based on square and triangle.
After the war ended, In the early fifties, people really wanted to remove the excesses and focus on what was essential. This gave birth to the word ‘minimalism’ which started as an artistic and architectural movement, mainely in the USA, where it was easier to completely break with classic European ecstasy.
So what exactly is a minimalistic Art?
Well it is more than some weird geometrical shapes and empty spaces.
It is a reflection of what is essential to make a space functional and harmonious. The minimalist art uses simple shapes, but is very well designed and detailed without adding much of a decoration.
It is an art which brings silence and teaches how to appreciate space by keeping things simple in your life.
It was started as a form of Modern abstract Art and architectural movement which was later adapted as a lifestyle.
Minimalism is a great example of how Art inspires us and shapes our lifestyle.
In the next blog I will be back with more of these Narratives. Till then, stay tuned.
